Ways & Means

This is the final report for 2011.  We had our Christmas Basket Draw on December 17, 2011.  Our winner was Gerda Frikkert.  The winner was contacted by telephone and was extremely happy to hear that she won.  I would like to thank everyone who entered the Draw.   It was a successful basket.  There are some businesses that I would like to acknowledge.

First of all I would like to thank Kendall and Daurell Wowchuk for their gift certificates that they donated throughout the year.  I also would like to thank the following: Landau Ford, Time Hortons (3248 Portage Ave), Chicken Chef, Food fare (Portage & Mount Royal), Piston Ring, Molson, 92 CITI FM radio station (Clear 102FM), St. James Ladies Auxiliary, Gary Lacey, Jane Deller and Wednesday Night Dart League.  Without the help of these businesses and organizations our committee would not be able to have these kinds of prizes.   If our members would like to either shop at any of the businesses to show support or just stop by to thank them for their help it would be appreciated.

Beginning in January 2012 we will be selling raffle tickets.  This is a fundraiser to help replace the mural on the west side of the building.  The cost of the ticket is only $1.00.  If you are interested in helping seell tickets for this, please see myself or leave your name at the branch.  The draw will take place following the general meeting on April 19, 2012.  We are also offering the winning seller of each prize $25.00.  Also look for the valentine basket to be out soon.  The draw date for this is february 11, 2012 following the Saturday Meat Draw.

We have completed our Grey Cup Ticket Sales and it was a huge success.  We sold out both series of tickets.  All the winners have been contacted and have received their winnings. I would like to thank my committee for all their help throughout the year.  They are Ron Filbey, Roxanne Mills, Debi Pointkoski, Linda Morley and Shelley Smith.  I would also like to thank Leif Johnson for all his help during the year.
